Book Maker App Guide

Tap the + button on the My Books tab to create a new book. Give it a title, choose a category, add a cover image, and write a description to attract readers.

• You can create unlimited books
• Set books as Private while drafting, then publish when ready

Each book is made up of chapters. Open your book, tap "Add Chapter", and start writing. Reorder chapters by long-pressing and dragging.

• Chapters auto-save as you type

• Use chapter version history to restore previous drafts

Control who sees your work. Keep books private while writing, or publish them publicly. You can also control whether others can duplicate your book.

• Private books are only visible to you

Book Maker has 5 main tabs — My Books, Discover, Audio, Feed, and Menu. Each tab is designed for a specific part of your reading and writing journey.

• My Books is your personal library of created and saved books
• Discover is where you find public books from all authors
• Menu gives you access to Profile, Settings, and all tools

When you open Book Maker for the first time, an interactive tutorial introduces you to all the key features. You can replay it anytime from Menu → Help.

View your books in grid or list layout. Sort by last updated, creation date, or name. Search your personal library to find any book instantly.

Book Maker checks for new versions automatically. When an update is available, you'll be prompted to upgrade for the latest features and fixes.

The built-in editor supports full text formatting — headings, bold, italic, underline, lists, quotes, code blocks, images, and more. Choose from 10 custom fonts.

The chapter editor is a full Quill-based rich text editor with custom fonts, inline images, and extensive formatting. Write long-form content with ease.

Every chapter automatically saves versions as you write. Open a chapter, tap the history icon to browse past versions and restore any of them.

Export books as HTML, Markdown, or PDF. Open a book, go to Book Settings, and choose your preferred export format to download or share.

• HTML export preserves all rich text formatting

Assign your book to a category (e.g. Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry) to help readers find it. Well-categorized books appear in category browsing.

• Choose the most specific category that fits

• You can change category anytime in Book Settings

Every book has a settings screen where you can edit the title, description, cover image, categories, privacy, and audio publishing options.

With author permission, duplicate public books to create your own versions. Perfect for translations, adaptations, or fan fiction.

• Only books with duplication enabled can be remixed

Upload a custom cover image for every book. Tap the cover area in Book Settings or during creation to choose from your gallery or camera.

The editor supports importing Markdown and exporting your chapters as Markdown. Great for writers who prefer plain-text workflows.

Download books for offline access. Once downloaded, you can read entire books without an internet connection — perfect for travel.

View exported books in HTML, Markdown, or PDF format directly in the app. Each format has a dedicated viewer optimized for reading.

Stuck on what to write? Use the AI Content Generator inside any chapter to get writing suggestions, continue your story, brainstorm ideas, or generate an outline.

Get an AI-generated summary of any book or chapter. Useful for creating back-cover blurbs, previews, or refreshing yourself on story details.

• Summaries are generated per chapter or for the whole book
• You can copy the summary to use as your book description
• Re-generate as many times as you need

The AI Content Generator has multiple modes — Freeform, Grammar Fix, Summarize, Expand, and Professional Tone. Choose the mode that fits your needs.

• Grammar Fix corrects spelling and grammar automatically

• Professional Tone rewrites text in a formal style

Convert any book to audio with text-to-speech. Open your book, go to the Audio tab, select a voice, and generate audio for your chapters.

• Choose from local device voices or premium cloud voices

• Audio is generated per chapter for flexibility

While reading any book, tap the speaker icon to enable read-aloud. The app will read the current chapter aloud with adjustable speed and pitch.

Browse the Audio Discover tab to find books with published audio. Listen directly in the app with the full audio player including chapters navigation.

Create a shareable Book Link to give someone (or yourself) access to your book's web editor or preview. Links expire after a set time you choose (1–168 hours).

• Editor links let collaborators edit chapters in a browser
• Preview links are read-only — great for sharing drafts
• Each link has its own expiry and access stats

Secure any Book Link with a 6-digit PIN. When a PIN is set, anyone opening the link must enter the PIN before accessing the editor or preview.

• Set a PIN when creating a new link, or add one later
• Regenerate or remove the PIN anytime from Link Details
• The PIN gate also applies to direct chapter URLs

Each Book Link tracks how many times it was accessed in editor mode and preview mode. View detailed stats in the Link Details screen.

• See exact editor vs preview access counts
• Last accessed timestamp is shown for each link
• Delete links you no longer need from the Links screen

Book Links open a full web editor at bookmaker.cv. Collaborators can write and edit chapters in any browser — no app required.

• The web editor supports the same 10 custom fonts as the app

• Version history is available in the web editor too

Share books, quotes, and polls directly to other apps like WhatsApp, Twitter, and email. Use the native share sheet for seamless sharing.

• Tap the share icon on any book or quote to open the share sheet
• Share book links or direct app content
• Recipients without the app can view web previews

View all your created Book Links in one place. Edit expiry times, regenerate PINs, delete old links, and monitor access stats.

• Access all links from Menu → Book Links
• Delete expired or unused links to keep things tidy
• Link stats update in real-time as people access them

The Discover tab shows public books from all authors. Browse by category, filter by newest or most popular, and find books from people you follow.

• Follow your favorite authors to see their updates first

Search for books by title, author, or keyword. Apply filters for category, sort order, and content type to find exactly what you want.

Like books and chapters you enjoy, and leave comments to give feedback. Authors get notified when you interact with their work.

Create curated reading lists to organize books. Share your lists publicly so others can discover your recommendations.

• Reading lists can be private or public
• Add any public book to your lists
• Browse public reading lists from the community in the Menu

The Feed tab lets you filter what content types appear — Books, Audio Books, Journals, Streams, Quotes, or Polls. Customize your feed to see only what interests you.

• Toggle content types on/off from the filter menu

• Combine filters with the Followers/Following tabs for a curated experience

Follow authors whose books you love to see their new content first. Your followers can also see your published books and quotes.

Chat directly with other authors and readers. Messages support text and images. You can block users or report inappropriate messages.

• Only users who follow each other can message by default

Join or create writing groups to collaborate with other authors. Groups have their own chat and can share books within the group.

• Create genre-specific groups for focused discussions

Block users to prevent them from messaging you or seeing your content. Manage your blocked list from the Menu → Blocking screen.

• Blocked users cannot send you messages

Get notified when someone likes or comments on your book, follows you, or sends you a message. Customize which notifications you receive in Settings.

Reply directly to specific comments on books and chapters. Threaded replies make conversations easy to follow and help authors engage with readers.

Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen. A reset link will be sent to your registered email address.

• Check your spam folder if you don't see the reset email

• Choose a strong, unique password when resetting

Verify your email address to unlock full app features. A verification link is sent when you sign up — tap it to confirm your account.

• Verified accounts can publish books and use social features
• Resend verification from Settings if needed
• Some features are limited until email is verified

Save any public book to your personal library for quick access. Saved books appear in the Saved Books section of your Menu.
